Wow... I can't believe I stumbled across my old blog. It looks like it's been six years since my last post.
Finding it again made me wonder if I should start writing here once more. Maybe just for me. I'm not even sure anyone will ever read these posts, and honestly, I kind of like that. Maybe this can become a little digital journal... a place to pop in and share some art, thoughts, and creative inspiration.
So, let's kick things off.
I've been creating art for the Zozofest Art Show in Santa Fe for about ten years now. See the link below to learn more about the Santa Fe Fiestas and the annual burning of Old Man Gloom. There's something about this show that keeps calling me back. The event is deeply connected to my culture and brings back memories of growing up in New Mexico.
One of my favorite parts of participating year after year is seeing my own artistic journey. Looking back at older pieces is a reminder to keep experimenting, growing, and discovering new ways to express myself. Sure, a few of those early works make me cringe a little, but they also make me smile. They remind me that growth is part of the process.
Lately, I've felt like I'm finally closing the gap between the kind of art I admire and the kind of art I create. And that feels pretty wonderful.
