Happy Memorial Day!

It's not only a day to remember lost soldiers... but a day to spend with your loved ones. I've got burgers on the brain. My slider tip: use Gruyere cheese instead of cheddar and biscuits for buns. So yummy! Enjoy the day!

Happy Birthday To Me!!

Hurray, today is my birthday! Don't get me wrong... I am not a hip chick, but since I designed this card, I thought it would be fun to show it off on my birthday! What will the day bring me...

Today's Horoscope: May 26, 2010
Your heart is going pitty-pat, Gemini, and you're tempted to escape to a romantic fantasyland in which you play the starring role. The bad news is that something could be trying to hold you back. It could be that responsibility is coming on the scene and reminding you that work needs to be done here in the real world before you can go off to your little fairytale world.

Friday Favorite - Is it time for bed?

This is just the coolest upcycling I've seen. A vintage navy blue suitcase that has been transformed into a bed for your furry friends! My sweet doggies would love to have one. Please take a moment and check out Vintage Renaissance. They believe in recycling, upcycling, repurposing and reviving older styles to work for design today. Their quirky and colorful items give you a chance to create a one-of-a-kind home with mega vintage charm. A Friday favorite I had to share.

P.S. it's in the details - Tag You're it!

So Tania of Indo Bay Textiles tagged ... Rebecca of The Ardent Sparrow who tagged ... Laura from love. laugh. believe... who tagged me! It's now my turn to tag, the decision wasn't easy... but I found some eye candy I fell in love with.

P.S. it's in the Details, tag you're it!
Seriously? Birds in boots giant stamps, I love the illustration, color and creativity. Then Cuppa tea refrigerator magnet with this adorable owl. I know so many tea lovers that would swoon over this. Finally, these beautiful fairy flowers dusted with glitter. Oh so magical and cute!

I knew I found the right shop when I read her profile. She love details. "Those tiny, little, awesome things that make you take a second look.... that make you oooooo and ahhhh." And a fellow graphic designer looking for a creative outlet.

If you have a chance, stop by P.S. it's in the details shop. It'll make you smile!

So who will be tagged next? Be on the lookout at P.S. it's in the details blog to find out who Patty will be "tagging".

While all of these are important, I am making the most important pledge! To be bold, be happy, be myself, be free, be honest and be inspired. First Art Fair - City Park Pavillion - Denver

I did it! Got my first one under my belt. As you can see from this picture I am an early bird. I learned a lot from this one. Mostly about getting inventory ready and set up. I really enjoyed preparing for this and now ready for more. I had the best time going to thrift stores to look for display items. Surprisingly, I found exactly what I was looking for. So lucky!

I also met some great fellow Etsians selling. Great to meet the artist in person. I love the way we all have a different approach to table display. Saw some great ideas. Can't wait for the next one!

Happy Mother's Day!

Hope all moms have a great Mother's Day! It's funny when the day comes and you become a parent and all of a sudden you realize how hard it must have been for your mom. I used to make my mom cry right before church because my socks didn't match, had to have my food separated, talked too much, etc... All I can say, I hope I can be as great of a mom to my daughter. Truly... thanks mom!

Hello Hola Bonjour

Lost touch with that special friend far away? Sometimes an email or a Facebook post just doesn't cut it. Send a card. A fun international hello is sure to put a smile on their face. And cards can make a great keepsake by putting in a small frame. Hope you and a friend can enjoy my birdie speech bubble hello card.

Mother's Day Brunch Idea

I love Gruyère cheese and recently went to the French restaurant Brasserie Ten Ten in Boulder. I had the best ham and cheese crepes. So savory! Now I am on a mission to make them at home. Crossing my fingers I can conquer the crepes. And if I can do it... then Mother's Day brunch will be an extra special delight!

Ham and Gruyère Crepes

Authentic Black Forest ham is produced in the Black Forest region of Bavaria, in southwestern Germany. There, the hams are cold smoked over beech wood or pine from nearby forests, producing meat with an intense smoky-sweet flavor and velvety texture.

Gruyère is a hard yellow cheese made from cow's milk, named after the town of Gruyères in Switzerland.

Feeling inspired? Here's the recipe I will be trying: Ham and Gruyère Crepes
